Prepare to get lost!
29 July 2021
The brown tourist signs sent us the wrong way. Satnav didn't help either. Parking is a lottery. We arrived an hour late - so our visit was spoilt before we even arrived.

Enjoyable day out
26 July 2021
An enjoyable day out at an attraction that had been on the "to do"list for some time. Great to see the hard work that has gone into restoring the locomotives and rolling stock, plus all the associated information and exhibits The staff and volunteers were all incredibly helpful and friendly!

BRILLIANT FATHER’S DAY GIFT
07 July 2021
Plenty of parking close to the entrance - there are steps which could be difficult for some. Once inside I can’t fault any of the experience. It was all very interesting, the refreshments were good and reasonably priced. There is lots of seating areas for picnics. You can ride up and down the track as many times as you want. Thoroughly enjoyed this experience.

Fun day out
27 June 2021
The gift was for two of us but we took our grandson aged 10 with us which added to the fun. For me the sights sounds and smell of steam was very nostalgic as I traveled to school by train. I remembered climbing on the racks and keeping quiet if anyone else came in the carriage. The cake was superb but the tea not so good. The staff were very friendly and kind. We liked the ladies in Victorian costume but where were the men in top hats? My Dad used to travel to London in a bowler hat and dark suit with hanky in top pocket

Hugely disappointing
17 June 2021
Overpriced, and underwhelming. We chose a midweek day during term term expecting it to be quiet only to find on arrival 20+ children and their minders monopolising the steam train ride. Decided to look around elsewhere only to come back and find he train rides had shut for an hour for lunch having only been going 2 hours since opening. Explored the site in less than an hour then popped into the cafe which was then suddenly deluged by the same school group with the staff trying vainly to get them to socially distance. The cake was mass produced and tasteless and looked nothing like the picture on the voucher. Then waited for the train ride which turned out to be about 3 minutes each way. We found the site itself to be scruffy and lacking in interest. My husband had a bad knee and although we knew about stairs entering the site there are also at east two sets of steep wooden stairs he had trouble with plus the picnic area was full of rabbit holes and hadn’t seen a mower in a long time. We left after just two hours and I must say the highlight of my day was finding the shopping centre up the round. If you are looking for a nice day out revolving around trains the Bucks railway centre at Quainton or the museum at Swindon are infinitely better and cheaper and also have free parking. The voucher details don’t mention that you will pay around another £5 to park at Didcot. If you specifically want a buy a gift voucher for a day out I would heartily recommend the Brooklands experience. Leave didcot to the train buffs who like to look around scrap yards.

I went with my son, it was for his Christmas present. When we arrived were greeted warmly. The cake we had was tasty. There was so much to see and do. We had a fabulous day.
