HP Experience great afternoon tea, not so much
21 January 2020
Afternoon tea is a pretty big disappointment, the food was very cheap and clearly put together with minimal effort. Tasted bad and went off somewhere else quickly to eat properly. tHe staff were nice but not very attentive. The location is lovely but you don't feel welcome to explore it. Harry Potter tour was great. I went a few years back and they have expanded the experience a lot and the audio tour aids really pack in a lot of extra information. Food options are a little limited so I would recommend not going on an empty stomach, especially if you have a disappointing afternoon tea coming.

Miss the afternoon tea

Harry Potter lived up to expectations- the afternoon tea did not. We waited 5 minutes to be served as to members of staff checked finances. Then, we were seated and asked about dietary requirements (something I had already given when booking). We asked for scones with no raisins due to my wife’s intolerance- they said they had run out and I should have explained that when I booked. That is not how you speak to a customer, she reluctantly said she would check for alternatives, we accepted a brownie in replacement- when I food arrived we had 2 raisin scones and no’d think that tea would be a minimum expectation right? No, my wife had to go up and ask for a tea menu as she’s like decade and wanted to see some options half way through our afternoon tea - they then just brought some decaf tea. At this point we had given up on this place, we ate and left as the waiter watched us go...we were never checked in with, never asked us if we need something and never said goodbye to. I felt like a inconvenience not a customer. Do yourself a favour- don’t get the afternoon tea and have food at Harry Potter studios- it looked nice and you’ll have a much better time.

Dream achieved
29 October 2019
The booking process was a nightmare,as after trying to book online was told it would take 5days for them to get back to me and then was told that they were booked for that time and date.however, when I phoned, was given the same day just different time. If I had to do it again I would phone and not bother doing it online! The actual studios were amazing and more than I had ever dreamed of. As a massive harry potter fan, i was blown away. The afternoon tea after reading some reviews I was a bit sceptical but again, it was amazing. Loved the whole experience and would recommend to anyone.

Amazing Birthday Gift
27 October 2019
Being a fan of the Harry Potter books and films it was an amazing day out. My husband who is maybe not such a fan still really enjoyed the experience as there was so much to see and learn about how the films were made. The afternoon tea at the Mercury rounded the day off beautifully and we also discovered that the fountain at the hotel was used in the film and can be seen in the photograph he keeps of his mother and father which was a nice little added bonus.

Tour was amazing, tea not so much
04 March 2019
The Harry Potter tour was the best part of the day, I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed it, will definitely be going back. The afternoon tea was abysmal, after being left to wait for roughly 20 mins to be seated, the food was very basic, we was given a glass of Prosecco because of being made to wait, I don’t really drink. Then we was left waiting for the tea!!! Until my daughter asked for it to which the member of staff replied “oh sorry I forgot “ by this time the food was practically gone!!! So I would definitely book the tour again, but until they change the venue or have more staff available to deal with the customers properly, I will not be booking the afternoon tea

A lovely day.

A nice gift from my parents to myself and my boyfriend. Easy to book, we did then need to see about moving dates due to unforeseen events but this proved to be very difficult for no particular reason. This is organised by hospitality line. Upon arriving to Warner Bro's. Studio there was plenty of parking and the it is well presented. We queued for no more than 10 mins to pick up the tickets, on presenting our confirmation, the member of staff asked for my ID - I had no notification requesting that I would need to bring this, fortunately, I had a my driving license. There was a brief moment of confusion and asked if we were someone else!! However, this all was resolved once she spoke to her manager and off we went into the studio. There is a selection of good quality food and drink to purchase before setting foot into the tour, but must be consumed prior to entering the sets. The tour took approximately 3 hours, including a pit stop for lunch and the must have butterbeer!! We then had 2 hours before our afternoon tea - so we killed sometime with a bit of shopping in nearby Watford. The hotel for the afternoon tea is pretty with nice gardens and good parking. However, no one was on reception so we did spend 10 mins looking for a member off staff. We waiting in the garden before being bought into a small restaurant type setting. Ultimately, it would have been nice to have enjoyed the afternoon tea in the garden, as the weather was pleasant. the food selection was nice (cheese & pickle/ham & mustard/tuna & cucumber/egg mayo sandwiches, fruit scones with clotted cream and jam, with a selection of mini deserts (macarons, lemon tarts, chocolate moose and coffee cake) served with either a pot of tea or a cup of coffee. Service was sufficient. All in all, I probably would recommend this to a friend as a nice day out.
